A View of Forbes

Plaque The Forbes cemetery has several well known grave sites. Pictured is a plaque that signifies three that had unmarked graves from the gold rush and bushranger era in the 1860's.

Wine A wide range of fruit, wine and vegetables are grown in the Forbes district and exported to other regions.

Tunnels The Albion Hotel tunnels have a history of their own, leading back to the era of the gold rush. Established under the Hotel (formerly the Cobb & Co coach stop) in the early 1860's, the tunnels were used to transport gold and money to and from the banks to avoid being robbed when conveying over the streets. A must for visitors to town.

Playground Recreation facilities such as play equipment is very important and visitors will find the latest designed equipment at many of the parks situated in Forbes.

Diving The Olympic Pool is an excellent place to unwind after a hectic day or weekend. Open seven days a week from October to Easter.
