A PLACE OF OPPORTUNITY

* In Forbes the cost of Industrial land is less than 5% of the cost of Sydney prices.

* A fully serviced, planned Industrial Estate has sites available.

* The town has an existing infra-structure and stable work force to support new industry.

* Forbes Shire Council encourages new businesses to the area.

* Forbes is accessible by rail, road or air, with daily flights to and from Sydney. 60% of the population of Australia is within 10 hours drive.

* Agriculturally, the economy of the district is diverse. Many areas are covered in the Forbes district including wheat, grain and oil seed crops, fruit, vegetables, lucerne, livestock selling complex, dairying, fodder crops and wool.

* Manufacturing and processing has a solid base here, including; abattoirs, concrete and fertiliser production, skins and hide production, pet food and leather processing and export, wool distribution centre and a very large saleyard.

* Water for stock, industrial and irrigation use comes from Wyangala Dam (on the Lachlan River) and from major underground water supplies. The use of irrigation is increasing and water is plentiful for both industry and recreation.

* Natural Gas is available for domestic and commercial use.
